2 drabbles

I have an almost finished fic that features Canadian Maple Syrup. As Canadian Maple Syrup Day is February 6th, I'd like to post it on Thursday instead of today. In the mean time, here are two drabbles to be going on with.

Title: Cheaters Sometimes Prosper
Author: Mandy
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: John/Rodney

“You topped last time,” accused John.

“I did not,” protested Rodney uncertainly. Had he?

“Yes, you did.”

“No I didn't.”

“Did.”

“Didn't.”

“Did.”

“Didn't.”

“Wait a minute. I'll tell you what. You can top this time,” offered John magnanimously.

“No, that's okay. You can.”

“I don't mind. You top.”

“No. You can.”

“But I want you to.”

“I insist. You top.”

“You top, please.”

“Fine, then, I'll top.” Rodney gave in.

Colonel Sheppard, Doctor McKay. Report to the gate room immediately.

They sighed. Interrupted again.



Later, Rodney checked his records. He had topped last time. John always tried to cheat.

The soft trilling filling the Mess stopped John and Rodney in their tracks.

Rodney looked closely at the fluffy ball being stroked by Simpson. Two nurses cooed over another pair. Chuck held a rather large black one. “No! No! No!” shouted Rodney. “Where did they come from?”

“Teldy's team brought them back. Cute, aren't they?” answered one of John's marines.

“We have to round them up and get them out of here,” said Rodney urgently.

“Why?” Half a dozen shared the table with the marines.

John and Rodney exchanged horrified looks. Didn't anybody else recognize tribbles when they saw them?

Hee, that John is such a tricksy fellow! You've gotta keep an eye on him every minute; fortunately that isn't a hardship.

Ahhhh, tribbles! <3 <3 I suspect that, when no one's around, Rodney secretly cuddles & pets his favorites.... (And you've given me the perfect opportunity to use this icon. ;-)

Well, OK, hypnotist I'm not, but I love Star Trek in other-fandom fics: it's like chocolate in PB! I'm not sure Pegasus Galaxy tribbles would be like gremlins tho'—with all the trekkies & geeks on the expedition, wouldn't that be recognized right away? Ooh, ooh, maybe they're were-tribbles.... ;-)

I recognized the Tribbles right away! :-) But of course, Pegasus Tribbles probably turn into Gremlins if you feed them after midnight or something. :-) Fun drabbles!
