Your Romancing McShep Wish List 2022

Instead of calling for prompts this year, I thought I'd change it up and ask for people to post their Romancing McShep happy-ending wishes.

Is it a simple wish for any McShep AU?

Or maybe you wish for off-world bed-sharing with only one blanket to share and plenty of cuddles where John pats Rodney's belly in his sleep.

Be as specific or general as you like, because as we all know, the heart wants what the heart wants.


You may offer as many wishes for the fest as your romantic heart desires, but please number them or leave sufficient space between them so it's easy to tell they're separate wishes.


And maybe, just maybe that wish will come true.

My McShep wishes, you say? Hmmm.

1. Any AU. Because I love AUs. All of them. Any of them. Crossovers. Fusions. Coffee shops. Pet stores. High school. AUs are love!

2. First year expedition fics that show the hardship of limited resources and all the opportunities to find some human comfort to get through it all.

3. Non-explicit loving touchy-feely times.

1. Fix-it fic! As well as John and Rodney getting their happy ending, I'd love for it to be a fix-it to save other characters I like. Examples are Aiden Ford, the replicator team, Peter Grodin, Kate Heightmeyer, Elizabeth, and of course, Vegas!John.

2. Everyone gets a fair deal with no character bashing. So sure, break Rodney and Jennifer Keller up, but treat Jennifer well and have them behave like adults.

3. Fusions and crossovers! I love it when other worlds are adapted and integrated with our fave characters.

Rodney taking care of a hurt!John or sick!John, especially if John is grumpy, but Rodney gently makes fun of him e.g. his hair is flat i.e. comfort a la Rodney *g*

Wishes?

1. Coffee Shop AU. Esp if Rodney's the one behind the counter.

2. Any fic where Rodney and Nancy get along like a house on fire and John's ears turn red when he witnesses them sharing stories about him.

3. Vegas John and Rodney get a soft, fluffy HEA. Maybe they move to a cabin by a lake? Bonus points if John's injury isn't easy to shake off.

4. John rubbing balm into Rodney's sore bits. (And maybe someone puts a goddamn mat down in front of the stargate to cushion AR-1's landings when they come in hot.)

1. McSheplicators! They're not bound by US military laws and norms anymore, and free to love each other openly.

2. Rodney finally notices those little ways that John has been showing that he cares.

3. Sentinel & Guide AU

Oooh a wish!? Some ideas I'll throw out to the universe:

1. Getting older: give me some semi-retired McShep in their 50s or 60s and all the things that come with age!

2. Boring life on Earth! Is it an AU? Is it post-canon? Is it during the Return? I love boring, domestic earth settings in all their forms!

1. Episode AUs or sequels in which the fun trope that happens to some other combination of characters happens to them instead/as well.

2. I don't know how reasonable a happy-ending (or even any at all?) story for their characters on See would be, since I know so little about the show past watching their tiny tiny scenes, but I still want it.

2) rom-com AU — bring on all the topes & cliches (holiday theme a bonus)

3) smut — I can't write it but I do love to read it

3. John and Rodney going on a camping trip, perhaps on Earth? Perhaps offworld?
