"I cannot fix on the hour, or the spot, or the look, or the words, which laid the foundation. It is too long ago. I was in the middle before I knew that I had begun."

I've been rereading Pride and Prejudice, and this is Mr Darcy's response when Elizabeth asks him about falling in love with her.

And I keep thinking that this is what John would say to Rodney...

Rodney of course fell in lust at first sight of John using Ancient technology effortlessly :D

What do you guys think?

ITA. They're just so into each other I don't think they get it.

I was in the middle before I knew that I had begun.

This sounds an awfully lot like Sheppard to me. :)

Ooo, I think that quote is absolutely applicable to John and Rodney ♥

This really makes me want to read a McShep P&P fusion....

EEEEE I love it when one of them is hit by the cluebus.

not sure where that came from

It's the McShep Effect. One moment you're moving through your regular routine and then suddenly
BAM they move in and tell you these things.

Hah! The clue bus would definitely run over Sheppard before he saw it coming. :-)

I'm not sure I could, either. But surely there's someone out there who can...

RIGHT? John canonically comes from a well to do family, and he's socially awkward. Rodney could totally be a spunky young man who isn't taking his crap. Man, this is a thing that should exist!

I can't believe it hasn't been done already. It *should* be done. There has to be some way of searching for that, right?

Jeannie could be Jane, and then Kaleb would be Mr. Bingley... Radek could be Mary and Jennifer would be Lydia...

Elizabeth would be Charlotte... Woolsey for Mr. Collins? Patrick Sheppard could be Lady Catherine...

Okay, I have to stop this madness now! :-)

Oh my god, YES. ALL OF IT IS PERFECT. My first thought was Lucius for Mr. Collins, but though Mr. Collins is annoying, he's not a creep like Lucius. Woolsey could work, though - very stiff and proper and such.

Oh, I don't know, I think Lucius might be a MUCH better choice--all unctuous and smarmy! I could see him fawning over Lord Patrick Sheppard too!

But my dear, who would you cast as Mr. Wickham??

LOL! I love the idea of Jack and Daniel as the Gardiners! And Koyla as Lady Catherine is inspired!

I can see Cadman kicking up her heels as Lydia too--but Wickham has to be someone you at least could see Rodney falling for just a little, and being willing to believe his side over John's... I'm not sure Kavanaugh has the charisma to pull that off!

I thought of Ronon as Wickham briefly--only because he has that whole bad boy thing going on--but then I couldn't picture him as *quite* the scoundrel...

I'm glad you approve of my idea for Mr. Collins XD He would totally be smarmy and sucking up to Lord Patrick Sheppard XD

Oh man, Mr. Wickham. Good question! It'd have to be someone good looking, as he's much thought of by Elizabeth and Lydia...Maybe Ladon Radim? The actor is good looking and Ladon is definitely shady and manipulative.
