I've been rereading Pride and Prejudice, and this is Mr Darcy's response when Elizabeth asks him about falling in love with her.
And I keep thinking that this is what John would say to Rodney...
Rodney of course fell in lust at first sight of John using Ancient technology effortlessly :D
What do you guys think?

Rodney was surrounded by the native children, each one of them vying for his attention, when he looked at me - face clearly begging me to save him. Shaking my head in amusement I made my way to his side shooing the kids away,they gasped and scattered quickly.
Rodney smiled up at me, the grateful one, and I found myself smiling back as a warmth spread in my chest. Reaching out I squeezed his upper arm and his smile changed, softened, as he ducked his head. I could feel my own smile change, soften, as the affection I felt for him swept over me.
I wanted so badly to lean in and nuzzle him, maybe press a kiss behind his ear, show him that I loved him, show him- Wait what?!? LOVE Rodney? I? LOVE? RODNEY?
While I was still wrapped in my thoughts, he moved away, and instantly I missed him. Oh. I do love him.
Uhh not sure where that came from ^_^

Elizabeth says that to Darcy during the proposal scene, and its such an apt description of Rodney although I'm pretty sure it's also why we love him ^_^
Jeannie would be Georgiana, Radek as Col. Fitzilliam, Kolya as Lady Catherine and Ladon Radim? as Anne
Lorne as Jane so that Parrish can be Mr Bingley, Jennifer as Ms Bingley.
Bates as Mary, Markham or Stackhouse as Kitty.
I was thinking Kavanagh as Wickham and Cadman? as Lydia.
Jack and Daniel as Mr and Mrs Gardiner
Woolsey as Mr Collins and Caldwell as Charlotte Lucas, Novak (the hiccuping Daedalus engineer) as Maria Lucas
(I have no idea who would be: Mr and Mrs Hurst, Mr and Mrs Bennet, Mr Lucas and other less important peoples...)

Date: 2016-02-15 08:42 pm (UTC)I can see Cadman kicking up her heels as Lydia too--but Wickham has to be someone you at least could see Rodney falling for just a little, and being willing to believe his side over John's... I'm not sure Kavanaugh has the charisma to pull that off!
