So I have this idea that I have tried to do and been unable to and maybe it isn't super appropriate for this fest (it feels to me like it should be long but maybe that's what I'm doing wrong?) but I would like to give it up to the community. Anyway, this idea/prompt is basically based around this thing my friend says sometimes when we watch SGA - she says that the relationship between Elizabeth and John seems like that of a knight to his queen. Devoted, endlessly, but not necessarily romantic. So that sparked this idea for a medieval/fantasy AU where Elizabeth is a queen, John is a knight, Rodney is a sorcerer or an alchemist or something, et cetera. Including warring with neighboring kingdoms of Genii and Wraith (though I also tossed around the idea of the Wraith being necromancers of some kind). Anyway, that's the prompt/plot idea. Like I said, I wasn't entirely sure it'd be appropriate for this, but you never know.

- The start of Send Them Off! by Bastille (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6c4mTu-Wjaw) has the spoken lyrics "It was a slight on my honor, so he deserved it. (another speaker) But we're talking about the most brilliant mind this world has ever seen." and if that doesn't sound like someone talking about Rodney being an ass then I don't know what would lol.

- Soulmates. Any kind of soulmates. There is not enough soulmate fic in this fandom. (there is never enough soulmate fic in any fandom)

- "Thought-you-were-dead-and-I-did-something-stupid" - who is thought dead and who is not is up to the writer - I can't decide if it would be more interesting to have Rodney be the one who is nearly killed and escaped death some interesting way or to have him be the one get stupid and reckless after thinking John is dead.

- I saw this post http://kigichi.tumblr.com/post/169335528761/itcomesbetweenus-yotoob-imagine-otp the other day on tumblr about someone (Rodney, for the prompt) moving into a house and their neighbor (in the post, a nice gay couple. for the prompt, probably just John) being SO SUPER NICE to them that the person is like caught up in this niceness COMPETITION. They have to be the NICEST NEIGHBOR EVER lol. Except in the instance of the prompt instead of the new person being the one to make lemon drizzle cake it is the person who already lives there (because when I saw that post the very first thing I thought of was John coming over to Rodney's with a nice cake and Rodney shrieking "Are you trying to KILL ME?!" or "I knew the niceness was a lie!" or something ridiculous because it is an utterly ridiculous prompt)
