Clearly, Rodney has a jump on his story (at least he doesn't seem worried) while John--not so much.

*gives EVERYONE an encouraging pat on the arm* You can do it!

Why, I've had the first 200 words written for a month. The same 200 words. Evil words that refuse to budge one letter forward. Rotton, miserable, stubborn...ahem.

How is everyone else doing?

I have 1,836 words....but 1,000 of them were written a year ago! :head desks: I thought it would be easier to use a partially written and fully planned fic for this but I'm struggling.

Maybe I need to switch ideas?

I might actually. I’m gonna play around with this other idea and hope it serves me better!

I'm cleaning up a five (!) year old fic I wrote for Keira Marcos' Rough Trade and then never did anything with... so the fic is mostly already written, but there are a couple of plot holes that need fixing... when you (at least me!) write 20K+ words in a month, there are holes that will happen...

Hmm... maybe I'll even poke at that Undercover Boss story I've started like three times... I think I even remember how I was going to end it... hmm....

If you have the first 200 words, then try writing the last 200 words... or the middle 200 words... sometimes, writing the very next words are hard, but later words might work... and fill in the holes (or not) when you're ready!

I actually have 2 ideas, and I was hoping to knock them both out for the fest. Instead, I have maybe 800 words of the first one, and have made no progress. But I've been on the struggle bus lately, so I'm not surprised~

I'm determine to get one done!

What started out in late November as an idea for a longer-form mission fic (swapped team members! sorta clones! action and firefight in the gateroom!) has morphed into a single, if extended, post-mission fluff and humor scene instead (you're not still a clone, right?). Which was unexpected, but it's not like I can resist that kind of silly happiness.

5000-ish words later, the rough draft is in pretty good shape, but the last half is totally mocking me with its refusal to really settle down. The Romancing McShep fest seems like just the right nudge to get it to gel... I hope?

Anyway, I'm determined to get some form of the story done, even if the final (extremely silly) bit gets posted as a later chapter.

So thanks for the encouragement. =)

I'm still in the 'thinking about what to write' stage.

I also thought about asking if anyone has a fic they've written that they might like a soundtrack created for, and doing a couple of those? But it would probably just be a YouTube soundtrack sort of thing, not real fancy-schmancy.
