Call for prompts for 2020

Yes, m'dears, it's time to submit those prompts for the 2020 Romancing McShep Fest!

Please comment to this post with your prompt suggestions. Prompts may be anything including, but not limited to, pictures, poetry or song. You may offer as many prompts for the fest as your romantic heart desires. We'll continue with our shameless begging for prompts until midnight Jan 31st.

For inspiration, you can check out the prompts posted in previous years. (If there's an idea you love, feel free to post it again here.)

Post as many prompts as you like, but please number them or leave sufficient space between them so it's easy to tell they're separate prompts.

Don't forget, this year we're also including Heweligans!

Yay for prompts! I’m considering another movie fusion fic for the fest this year so if anyone has a romantic film they would love to see McShepped, let me know, I’m on the lookout for inspiration.

Okay, never written a prompt before but here goes.

1. Rodney is the Ancient Male Goddess of Petty Vengeance. John is the Ancient God of...anything you want. Romance and hilarity ensues.

2. J and R get hitched Pegasus Style - accidentally or on purpose. (I might have written one of these already...)

3. I'm a sucker for a Bodyguard AU, esp with BAMF!John. <3

Can you just picture it though? Rodney dressed in flowing robes, being prayed to in the feminine form, bitter and resentful at being called "Meredith" and acquiescing to the pettiest of requests.

Your neighbour stole your scythe and you want everything it cuts down to be ruined? Done!

1. Discovering something new (and cool *g*) on Atlantis

2. A story in which one of them is responsible for the security of the computers and the other one is a hacker. They have to work together in the end because there is something very wrong going on ....

3. I always love Regency AUs. :)

All the prompts are really inspiring! Makes me excited to write a fic for the fest... as for prompts I have

1. Anything with time travel (for example a future version of one of them turns up, or they have to travel to their past or future body to prevent disaster)

2. John gets to do something more maths/engineering related with Rodney and flex his brains as well as brawn

John & Rodney's fathers were college friends, so they grew up together. They haven't seen each other in many years, but are reuniting at Jeannie's wedding. Were they the best of friends when they were young, or more antagonistic? What happens now that they're older and wiser?

1. The classic: Woke up in bed together with no memory of who they are or what happened.

2. Rodney is kidnapped (again) This time the clue-bus hits John hard as he realizes he'll do anything to get McKay back safely.

3. Dead Zone fusion. Rodney wakes up from a 7 year coma. He awakens with a new, yet to be explored physic ability to see people's past and future. The only one who supports and believes him (albeit reluctantly) is the town sheriff - John Sheppard.

One of my favorite movies is The Mummy and I'm reading a romance novel that is basically an AU novelization which made me think how amazing a SGA Mummy AU/fusion would be unless it's already been done.

1. John is trying to access 'enough' source to complete Hugo nominations from Atlantis. May be trying to keep that on the down low from Rodney.

2. John scavenging calculus and other recreational math from the experimental sciences team (trade publications will use any hook necessary)

I read these comments then had checked my Facebook, where there was a picture of a white guy with messy dark hair and no memory of who he is. The police are hoping that someone will recognize him. I love amnesia fic. It made me want one where John doesn’t remember anything and Rodney barrels into his hospital room to identify him. Would it be canon-based or AU? Would they already be together, so Rodney would hide this as to not impose on John, or would they come together as Rodney helps John relearn his life? Any variation would be lovely!

American Dreamer (1984) AU where John is the Cathy Palmer / Rebecca Ryan character, Rodney is the Alan McMann character, and Jeannie Miller is the Margaret McMann character. I actually started writing this once, but didn't get but half a page in and put it away because I couldn't find the right tone.

Sentinel/Guide fusion - To everyone's shock, Rodney is a Sentinel and John is his Guide as it is known that usually military are Sentinel and civilians are Guides and the civilians have to sign up for the military to support their Sentinel. What to do in Rodney and John's case?

1 -Time Travel fic where either season 5/post series J or R goes back into their past body during one of the previous seasons' episodes, and somehow changing things leads to them getting together... :? dunno if that makes sense.

2 - Homeless AU where Rodney is newly on the street and John takes him under his wing, teaches him how to survive, that kind of thing. Except John is deep undercover and one day he disappears, leaving Rodney broken hearted, until one day a handsome familiar stranger shows up with the good coffee and an offer of a home.

I'd love to see a crossover with NCIS John/Rodney and Tony/Gibbs pairings, some angst, h/c and a lot of smooshy love between our boys. Set on Atlantis or could be an AU :)
