Announcing the Romancing McShep Fest 2020! It's an extra special year because February 2020 is a leap year. Surely, wedding proposals must in the air?

Looking for that Happy Ending for John and Rodney? Feeling that urge to write that Happy Ever After story for our guys but just need a little incentive? Maybe you've found that perfect piece of McShep art and want to share.
Boy, have we got a Fest for you!
We know the road to love and happy endings can be a rocky one. And we know our guys are more target practice and computer code than hearts and flowers. ( That's part of why we love them after all)
No matter how they get there, in the end, we want them to be happy together and that's what this fest is all about.
In fact, that's the only requirement for the fest. A happy ending.
Truly, how you imagine John and Rodney's Romance is up to you. (I'm encouraging the addition of Hewligan stories because those boys surely need love too.)
All mediums, stories, meta, rec lists, podfic, pancakes, etc will be met with welcome delight. This is a fest and we are celebrating!
Don't think this means a story has to be fluff. Some of the best tales involve a rocky road, misunderstandings, and angst. The only requirement for the Fest is to give our boys their happy ending.
I'm not a writer? How can I celebrate?
The answer is - Anything goes. If you've baked a pancake that you think looks like John and Rodney kissing - take a picture. We want to see it! Icons, knitting, their initials carved into a tree.... Rec lists and story prompts are always welcome.
Feel free to ask me if you're not sure and don't hesitate to check out the posts of past fests.
What is a Hewligan?
A Hewligan happens when any of Joe's and David's characters from various tv and movie roles are paired together.
What if I want to do a different SGA pairing? Or I can't give my story a happy ending?
There's a community for that!
sga_saturday.
When is the deadline?
The fest will run through Feb 14th to midnight (your location) Feb 29th. You'll have any time during those two weeks to post your entries.
Questions? Leave them in the comments to this post along with any suggestions or thoughts you may have.

For this fest, you can participate as much or a little as you want. Stories, meta, icons, podfic. If McShep has brought you joy in some way we want to celebrate it. The main idea is to keep it low-pressure and fun.

Date: 2020-01-02 10:10 pm (UTC)Posting will run from Feb 14th-29th.
Meanwhile, I've put up a post where anyone can post story prompts here.
There is no need to sign up in order to participate in the fest.
In the works is a plan to have 4 or 5 McShep related interview questions for anyone that would like to join in.
